Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience working with children ages 5–12 required
- Leadership, coaching, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, professional attitude
- Ability to manage behaviors, resolve conflicts, and remain calm under pressure
- Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with participants, families, staff, and community members
- Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance
- Must successfully pass a background check through the St. Helens School District
- Food Handler's Card required within 60 days of hire
- CPR/First Aid Certification required within 60 days of hire
- Lead and supervise youth participants in the After School Program
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive experience of all participants
- Plan, coordinate, and implement activities including games, crafts, homework support, recreation, and enrichment opportunities
- Track attendance and monitor participant check-in and check-out procedures
- Build positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and community partners
- Coach and mentor program staff while modeling appropriate behavior and leadership
- Assist with program planning, staff meetings, and special events
- Monitor facility cleanliness, organization, and safety
- Assist with opening and closing facilities as assigned
- Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and behavioral concerns
- Support marketing and promotion of youth recreation programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Part-Time Seasonal (20 hours per week)
- Monday – Thursday 12:15 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.
- Must be available for occasional special events and recreation programs
- Must be available to work occasional evenings or weekends for family engagement activities, typically held once per quarter
- $16.45 per hour
